Fat Hair

I'm loving boofy big messy hair like this at the moment... maybe its just that my new haircut allows me to get a curl going without having to spend hours with a hairdryer and curling brush... whatever it is, I'm so enjoying going out with my mane puffed out and proud! Crazy hair... I love this ed... the mood, the styling, the photography... everything!

Vagabond Wanderer

Vogues Issue #61
I love these caravans, makes me want to run away and join a band of gypsies!
I once worked with an old English woman who was a real gypsy like the images below in her youth, wandering around Europe in a caravan reading peoples tarot for her coin... her stories always made me wish that I could run away and do the same!
I think Kate makes it look waaaaaaaay more glamorous of course... but there is just something about wandering free-as-a-bird around the countryside in a caravan thats just a little bit too fabulous!!!!

Day Tripper

The freedom of dreams is something I cherish, I live in a day dream, I create fantastic stories in my mind and play them on the projector screen inside my head and I get lost down the rabbit hole of my heart... so many possibilities!

and I love finding and making images that make me feel like I'm seeing my daydreams in front of me, not inside me... this is my latest piece... I hope you like it!

'Hats-Fabulous

fuck shit piss cunt... I want this hat so bad it hurts, even if it looked hideous on me I would wear if everywhere... even in bed...especially in bed!!!!
And such a great great shot... love the hair... the lips... the eye just peeking out from under the brim of the best hat I've ever laid eyes on!!
Did I say I liked the hat???

The Perfect Blog Accessory

No chick's blog is complete without a post dedicated to the ladies (& a couple of guys) that make smoking a cigarette look so incredibly seductive, glamorous, tempting and compellingly-motherfuckin-hot!

These shots are some of my fav all time kick ass shots that I've seen glorifying the extremely-harmful-to-your-health but ever-so-amazingly-satisfying habit of puffing on a darb!!!

I'm supposed to give it up by the end of this year and I am dreading giving away my last vestige of self abuse. I no longer drink... take very very very few other mind bending substances and smoking cigi's is all I got left! If I can do it and not become an axe wielding homicidal maniac, I will be surprised!!!!

Shots of Kate Moss are always hot and I love looking at her... this one is hands down my fav Kate Moss shot of all time... and maybe my fav all time smoking shot as well! Although I found this on Sharna's blog (clearly another smoking shot addict) I'm pretty sure I first saw this pic on a poster stuck to my best all-time-always-ever-amazing soul sista Mish's bedroom wall... she has a sick blog which you can find here... and is even more obsessed with smoking shots than me...check it... its AMAZING!!

We all recognise this shot...
Another from Mish's awesome collection... click this link to check her site out

Sharna also has some sick blogs and I found a few pearlers on her pages at this link and more on this other link

This one comes from dmode 149

A guy smoking just doesn't have the same edge to it... its still hot but women add that sensuality to it that men just cannot emulate...

This one came from le smoking a WHOLE blog dedicated to the images I and so many others love!!!!

Tamra sent me this one so I have to add it to the list ... forever referred to as Edward and smokin' hot

Too many miles

I want to be wrapped in your arms
Just to breathe you in
Just to hear the beat of your heart
To marvel at your existence...

How cool....

I lovelovelovelovelovelovelove what the clever person who did this has created... wow what an amazing way to honour and appreciate a fallen commrade!

i'm not quite sure if that one on the left side is supposed to be a penis or some sort of weird lizard... and my curiosity is peaking about what lay on the other side of the trunk... if anyone out there in cyber space knows where this is located or more like it... please let me know!

Summer Festival Fever

I've been infected with a fever that will not leave me... an early heat wave hit the Gold Coast this week and all of a sudden, I'm in summer mode, ready to party and get frisky in the suns scorching rays of bliss!

Not only is it my favourite season of the year (mind you its still technically spring) but tis also the time of year that the festival circuit steps into full swing!

This fact was smashed home to me this morning when I jumped online to check my emails and I had a notification of Soundwave Festival's early bird sale commencing today... without a blink of an eye, I was sqwarking and flapping about for my credit card to purchase a ticket for myself and lock in the dream-come-reality of seeing Janes Addiction alongside Faith No More!!!! Two of my fav bands of all time in one festival and the daydreams floated on a warm breeze into my head distracting me with images of dancing up dust clouds, recovery sessions in water tents and possibly just possibly losing my mind and my shit in a public place!!!!

It has been a few yrs since I was last taken by summer festival fever and I have been on a well earned break from the circuit... its good to be back and I am sooooo ready for it!!!!

Now I just have to smack myself into shape, find some cool outfits, waterproof my phone and cigi's and I am good to go!!!!

Prima Ballerina

I love these images, I don't know exactly why... there's just something about the 1920's that intrigues me! If I had a time machine, I would be stopping by the 20's for a visit right after Woodstock!

The Roaring Twenties or Jazz Age just seems to be such a romantic time to me. Society was in an intense explosion of exploration... music, dance, arts and fashion, ...alcohol!!! ...civil rights and the rise of the feminine voice and her entry to the workforce, to the creation of television, combining moving pictures with sounds and taking entertainment to another dimension. And that growth went in every direction, good and bad and everything in between, from racism, gansters, political plotting, prohibition and suppression to liberation, cultural celebration and expressive freedom. The 20's had it all! People all over the place were inspired and creating and learning and loving expanding and I feel like my head its about to explode from thinking about the amazing rush of energy it must have had!

A growth spurt of human evolution, it was like human culture hitting its stride and runnin a muk... realising how much fun it could have in life, how free and amazing it could feel.
Somehow I feel a real sense of pride when I think of that period of time. Not as in my own egoistic pride as an individual but a pride of humanity itself, the collective looking at what it had accomplished and how it had grown and was goin' ... fuck yeah... we're RAD!

That'll Do Donkey!!!

Those legwarmers are sick!!! I wish I could see the shoes better though... they look just as awesome!!!! The background in this shot looks like a painting... my heart aches to absorb itself in a sth american landscape... rich in natural contrasts.

So in love with this dress! not so sure I could pull of the yellow tights but I abso-fucking-lutely adore the dress!

Note to self... when travelling in sth america next year, go to Argentina and keep eyes well and truly peeled!!!

Once again, dmode is the source of these shots and the cause of my lack of productivity today!!!!!
this is from issue 149...

Will our ship ever set sail?

Break my heart back into place
Cause I've come to understand you more lately
And I've found a man inside your chest
Some will tear him up and I'll lay him to rest, rest

And I don't need to know the details of your past
And I don't need to know when you thought of me last
And I would have to say if I'm the sail then your the mast
And we've caught a good wind...

Busy Wasting Time

Busy wasting time, off in a wonderland where anything is possible... At least this addiction doesn't affect my health or most importantly, my bank balance! Hence why I am at home sitting at my computer on a perfectly good Friday night worthy of shenanigans!
This piece took me a good wallop of time, lots of trial and error and playing with different elements to push myself out of my normal creative comfort zone...

American Original

Terry Richardson... this man is a weapon with a camera... I love his work!

I love a good trashbag...

The rocking horse, cigi in hand and the vino mid air completely makes this shot for me!
It reminds me of messy nights and warped moments with special girls... this one goes out to the melbourne chicks i love so much and miss like wind misses the trees... MishMash, Kooka, Carls, I MISS U GUYS!!!!!!!

I'd Rather Walk Alone

Wish there was something now I could say or do
I can resist anything but the temptation from you
But I'd rather walk alone than chase you around
I'd rather fall myself than let you drag me down.

Falling for Fallen

So the boss left for the day and instead of smashing all the tasks on my to do list, I went down to the newsagent and searched for a mag to read while I casually drank coffee and fart arsed around on the net!

I was thinking of grabbing a Russh mag or maybe the Vogue 50yrs celebration ed but got totally sidetracked when I picked up a mag I hadn't seen before called Fallen.

Only the second Edition, I flipped through and raced to the counter to pay my coin and skip merrily back to the office to brew some beans and settle in to have a good read!

The layout is magic, the editorial is really well written, featuring not only photography fashion and accessories but also music, installation and illustrations. Great use of white space and overall a fantastic publication!

I highly recommend you check it out, it really is worth every cent!
Lyn Balzer & Tony Perkins combine their talents to create these shots to explore the female body within natural landscapes of Australia... These shots are simply sensational...
